The 1046 model was built by New Holland from 1065 to 1968.  Similar to its "3-wide" sister the 1047, it is a first generation machine with a 6-cylinder engine, 4-speed transmission, 2-speed rear axle and power steering.  They do have some down sides compared to the 1048 series machines in that they have flat tables, no automatic tie provisions, are driven from the right hand side, and parts support at this time is limited.  These machines were built to stack 2 and 3-string bales in the "2-wide" configuration.  Capacity is from 64-80 bales depending on your baler's chamber size.  We have operated and sold many of these machines over the years and they do come through the yard now and again, so give us a call if you feel a 1046 will work for you.
